Registration for current swim season:

There are different registration times and dates for returning swimmers and for new club members. Please check the 'Information' section (upper left) of the Home Page for the dates and times for this season
Swimmers may register with the club at any time during the year and the fees will be adjusted accordingly.

For Junior Barracudas information and registration please click here.
Registration takes place at the W. J. Henderson Recreation Centre at the west end near the canteen.

How to register:

Returning swimmers: Complete the registration agreement and swimmer information pages. One of each form per swimmer. Forms will also be available prior to registration on the website.

New swimmers: The required forms and information will be provided at the times given for registration.

It will take about 30 minutes to complete the registration process. Please complete the registration form. All information is required to permit the club to register swimmers online with Swim Ontario. Bring the completed registration agreement, PIPEDA, Email Agreement and your cheque book to the registration session.

Please think about your time commitment to the club. It lessens the workload and expense for all families if everyone does their share. There are many positions necessary to keep the club running smoothly.  Please contact a board member to help out.

Fee Structure:

The club executive feels that all swimmers should be treated fairly and get equal value for their money. The fee structure is a reflection of equal fee per hour of practice. We want everyone to have a clear idea of what the swimmers goals and aspirations may be with EBSC.
PLEASE NOTE: THE FEES QUOTED BELOW ARE THE RATES FOR THE CURRENT SEASON (any changes to the current fees will be posted before the start of a new swim season).

University Swimmers
The registration fee for RETURNING university swimmers is
$100.00 plus the applicable Swim Ontario fee.

The registration fee for NEW University swimmers who wish to compete and train with the club is $150.00 plus applicable Swim Ontario fees.

ALL university swimmers must be registered with Swim Ontario by March 31 in order to compete and train with the club.

*Payment of the club registration fees is divided into five equal amounts to be paid between September and January for the current swim season. The cheques will be dated as follows:

Sept. 15*, Oct. 15, Nov. 15, and Dec. 15 for this year and Jan. 15 for the following year.

Fees may also be paid in their entirety with one cheque dated Sept 15th.

* The Swim Ontario Fee, a one time (yearly) fee, will be added to the first payment. This is required for insurance purposes and to register the swimmer with Swim Ontario (a swimmer may not compete unless they are registered with Swim Ontario).

Tax Receipts
Children fitness tax credit receipts will be given to families for each swimmer who is eligible under the income tax regulations.  http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/fitness/
A $15.00 administration fee will apply for replacement receipts.

Refunds
December 31 is the deadline to receive refunds from the club should a swimmer decided to withdraw.  No refunds are given after December 31.

PLEASE NOTE: The figures indicated in RED are the actual costs for a swimmer for one year. The other figures (Rebate Opportunity & Participation Levy) can be erased or reduced through club activities. Please read the following section for clarification on these two items.

Club Fundraising: In order to keep swimming fees down, the club plans to run several Fundraisers.  Your participation in these is required to be successful in keeping the swim fees down each year."

Participation Levy: The functional survival of a club such as EBSC requires the work of numerous dedicated volunteers (remember only the coaches are paid). To encourage parents to become involved in the running and organization of EBSC a participation levy was introduced in 2002. Actually it is more of a non-participation levy. At each level a swimmer competes at there is a designated amount of time that that swimmers family must provide to EBSC. As with the fundraising commitment this amount is indicated above and is paid in advance at time of registration. The value of the levy is determined at the rate of $10 per hour of commitment. Through contributions to the club these hours can be erased or at the least decreased and a refund will be obtained for the time involved. There are many different ways to earn your participation levy hours and a list of these activities can be obtained at the time of registration. One way of earning your hours is by volunteering at one of our swim meets. A list of the positions available to work at swim meets is provided here.

Synopsis of fee section: The actual cost to have a swimmer compete as a member of EBSC is relatively low. Provided the number of participation hours are met (this can be easily achieved if you become involved with EBSC, and you will) and if you participate in the fundraising activities. Any feedback on the fee structure and levels should be directed to the club executive and they can be found here.
