EBSC Meet, November 5 & 6, 2005

        A total of 217 swimmers participated (143 girls, 74 boys) creating a total of 1097
        splashes (a splash is counted each time a swimmers starts in a heat, thus each
        individual and each relay count for one splash each.) In 2004 there were 213
        athletes for a total of 982 splashes (135 girls and 78 boys.)

        • There were a total of 43 DQs.
        • The Dick Bulch Memorial Cup was awarded to Philip Arnold (KBM.) The Dick Bulch
        Memorial Cup is presented to the swimmer that swims the time closest to an existing
        Provincial record. Philip swam the 50 Freestyle in 27.19, the Provincial record for 13-14
        boys is 23.57 (set by Brad Creelman in 1985.) Philip was 3.62 seconds off the record
        but he was the only swimmer to come within 4 seconds of a record.
        • Numerous EBSC swimmers turned in performances that were in the top 5 for their age
        group events. A complete listing of the results can be found on the SwimDirect web
        site (yes, they are already there, thanks to Steve Blostein for that quick posting.) The

        • We award custom designed EBSC plaques to each athlete that finished first overall in
        their age group, silver and bronze medallions are awarded to the second and third place
        athlete. Points are awarded individually for each event and team points are awarded for
        each individual event and for relays. The individual events score 5,2 and 1 point for 1st,
        2nd and 3rd respectively.
