Swim Meet Information

EBSC Swim Meet Policy 2011/2012

A notice will be sent to you by email in advance of meets for which your child has qualified. The invitation will indicate the location and date of the meet and the number of events your coach would like your swimmer to enter as well as the cost per event.  The invitation will also include a ballot and deadline dates for both the  ballot and meet cheque submissions.  Our web site will post the details of the meets (i.e. warm up times  etc.), as the information becomes available, on the Meets -> Calendar page under the "location" of the meet.

*NOTE*
Due to changes in registration instituted by Swim Canada, we will institute a $15.00 administration fee for late entries.
Late is defined as any email intent received after the posted deadline on the meet ballot and/or any cheque received in the mailbox after the indicated cheque submission deadline date.

Please do not hesitate to contact if you have any questions.

If you want your swimmer to participate in the meet:

1: Fill in the appropriate fields that are required in the email ballot and return via email (it is easiest to "reply" to the email ballot, add the information required, then send it).

2: Write a cheque payable to EBSC and please remember to include the swimmer's name on the cheque.  Deposit the cheque in the upper white box labeled Swim Meets (located at the far end of the pool deck) by the deadline date indicated on the ballot.

3: Please write separate cheques for each meet.  You may combine siblings on the same cheque (this helps keep the accounting straight).

*NOTE regarding late ballots/cheques*
The email intents and the cheques will be collected on the deadline dates and these swimmers will be entered in the meet.  No swimmer will be entered if the intent and cheque are not received.  Late intents do not guarantee that your swimmer will be able to be entered into the meet.  Meet fees are non-refundable.

Should you fall into the late category:  Your account must be brought up to date before your swimmer is able to attend any future meets.

Earning Levy Hours at a Swim Meet

Working at a swim meet is one way in which you can accumulate levy hours. This applies to our meets and other meets you attend.

See the
How to Earn Levy Hours at a Swim Meet page for details on how many volunteers it takes to run a swim meet, and officiating positions available.  You will receive an email as a meet approaches requesting that volunteers sign up for positions on a signup sheet which will be posted on the EBSC bulletin board near the change rooms at the pool.  Just remember to have someone verify your involvement at the meet.

Please also see Meets -> Officials for more information on how to become an accredited official.
